Action on Previously Introduced State Tobacco Bills

The following bills that were previously introduced had action recently:

Maryland: Senate Bill 119, which requires a license to act as an electronic nicotine delivery system manufacturer, retailer, storage warehouse, vape shop vendor or wholesaler, is set for a hearing in the Senate Finance Committee on February 2, 2017.

Minnesota: House Bill 123, which reduces the current excise tax cap of $3.50 per premium cigar to $.50 per premium cigar, was heard before the House Tax Committee and held over for possibly being included in the House omnibus tax bill.

New York: Assembly Bill 516, which makes the restrictions on smoking in public places applicable to electronic cigarettes (exempts retail electronic cigarette stores), was reported from the Assembly Health Committee on January 17, 2017.
