State tobacco-related legislative bills that have been introduced in the past week are listed below alphabetically by state:

Alaska: House Bill 174 increases the legal age to purchase and possess tobacco products and vapor products from 19 to 21 years of age.

Massachusetts: House Bill 3778 restricts the sale of flavored tobacco products to locations where minors are prohibited from entering.

New Jersey: Assembly Bill 5385 imposes a licensing requirement on vapor businesses, limits the sale of “container e-liquid” to vapor businesses and imposes a retail tax of 10% on “container e-liquid” (the definition of which excludes a pre-filled cartridge).

Rhode Island: House Bill 6106 imposes a $.15 per pack surcharge on packages of cigarettes and nicotine delivery devices.
